Test track 1

A MULTIFUNCTIONAL TESTING GROUND WITH
A DYNAMIC COURSE AND TEST AREA

TEST TRACK 1

Test Track 1 is biased towards static and dynamic testing as well as verification of simulation models. Test Track 1 consists of two main parts:

One manoeuvre court designed to cut testing time and provide an easily modelable environment. Here acceleration, brake and lateral tests are made on a surface with no longitudinal slope and a low, constant lateral slope. Included are also a skidpad and a surface for constant velocity coasting tests without engine engagement.

One dynamic course where assessment of combined vehicle states are made possible and repeatable with a high repeat frequency. Depending on velocity, down to 0,5g and up to 1,8g vertical is achievable and combinable from straight line to full lateral load. Due to the modular lap length, repeat tests can be made within a very short timeframe.

THE CIRCUIT

SECTOR A

Manoeuvre court covering 10000 square meters. Consist of several functions; Horizontal surface (140 x 30 meters), Skid pad (100 meters diameter), Coast surface at 4,33% slope (100×20 metres), Two turn-around areas elevated six metres above the horizontal surface to improve acceleration onto the surfaces and collect groups of cars in a safe environment, away from the testing. The manoeuvre court has a lateral slope of 0,75% to evacuate water.

SECTOR B

Dynamic course of 920 meters consisting of several types of corners with different amount of banking and crests. It is designed for assessment of combined vehicle states with a high repeat frequency, hence the short lap and possibility to use crossovers also for testing. Depending on the vehicle velocity, down to 0,5g and up to 1,8g vertical is achievable and combinable from straight line to full lateral load, thereby creating an environment where a large number of tests can be evaluated. Due to the modular lap length and segment combinations, more than one test and several groups of cars can use the course at the same time.

KEY SITES

1. Parking for up to 40 cars
2. Checkpoint of 200 square metres
3 & 4. Entrances with capacity to load and unload cars from trailers or to gather a group of cars before entering the Test Track.

“The flow of nature is transformed to an asphalt track through simulations

of vehicle dynamics, aesthetics come along with functionality.”
